SkyMed is a national educational platform for Ukrainian physicians that enables them to take accredited CPD (Continuous Professional Development) courses, pass tests, and accumulate credits for certification and professional category advancement in accordance with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine requirements. Before partnering with IT WEB, CPD systems for physicians in Ukraine existed in a fragmented state: paper certificates, separate providers, manual credit tracking, and no single source of truth. Registration required an in-person signature and document verification, while online payments were not integrated with the qualified electronic signature (QES).
CHALLENGE
- Build a unified platform with courses, tests, and a personal CPD credit portfolio.
- Provide legally significant physician identification without paper procedures (registration in 1 minute instead of several days).
- Automatically generate tamper-proof certificates with unique numbers linked to the user’s tax ID (RNOKPP).
- Build personal data protection compliant with GDPR and Ukrainian medical confidentiality legislation.
- Implement in-cabinet online course payments without redirects to third-party websites.
SOLUTION
- Authentication via Diia (Diia.Signature). Implemented physician login and registration using QES / Mobile Diia. In June 2026, migrated the integration from ECDSA to the national standard DSTU (Ukrainian DKE S-box). Developed a custom Go binary for hashing.
- Sensitive data encryption. Tax ID (RNOKPP), passport data, and documents are stored in the database with AES-256-GCM encryption.
- Online payments via WayForPay. Integrated the national payment gateway with support for Apple Pay / Google Pay / Privat24. Automatic course access granted after a successful transaction.
- Courses, tests, and certificates. Built the LMS core: video lessons with secure embedding, tests with random question sampling and a passing threshold, auto-generated certificates with unique numbers and QR verification codes.
- Data correction request module. Since Diia returns names in different formats for passport booklet and ID card holders, we developed a separate correction request module with supporting document uploads (up to 5 MB, strict extension validation) and an admin approve/reject workflow.
- Transactional email via Resend. Replaced the default Drupal Mail with the Resend HTTP API via a custom plugin — deliverability >99%, DKIM/SPF/DMARC configured.
- Managed admin panel. All critical settings — contact details, “Under Construction” mode, Diia promotions, certificate templates, manual name editing — are available to the admin through the UI without touching code.
- Technical SEO and performance. Server-side rendering via Drupal Cache API, WebP images, critical CSS inline, lazy-load for video. LCP < 1.6 s on 3G, full Core Web Vitals compliance.
RESULTS IN 3 MONTHS
- 5,000+ physicians are already taking courses on the platform.
- +318% growth in registrations after Diia integration (registration in 60 seconds instead of 3 days).
- 99.4% successful payments via WayForPay (on the first attempt).
- -87% support requests about password recovery — Diia replaced passwords with QES.
- 100% of certificates are generated automatically, no manual issuance required.
- LCP 1.6 s, CLS 0.02 — full Core Web Vitals compliance.
